George is a Chartered Quantity Surveyor (MRICS) with over 10 years’ experience in the construction industry. For much of this time, George has undertaken senior commercial roles for Main Contractors on large infrastructure projects up to £235m including roads, bridges, tunneling, station upgrades and fit out all of which have been executed under the NEC3 form of contract. He therefore has extensive knowledge and experience with this particular type of contract and in particular, the required notice provisions which are a condition precedent to the recovery of time and money.

In addition to the above George’s more recent experience ranges from new build and redevelopment schemes of housing, apartments and hotels, all of which have been undertaking under the JCT suite of contracts.

Over the past 18 months George has also been involved in a series of adjudications providing technical input and drafting of elements of the written submissions. More recently he has acted as the party representative on smaller value disputes. He has also prepared and defended against loss and expense claims, delay and disruption claims and also the pricing of variations.

George also provides commercial and quantum advice including the review of contract terms and conditions, preparation of applications for payment and the pricing of variations. 

George is a Member of the RICS and a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) as well as a member of the Society of Construction Law. He has a PGDip in Quantity Surveying, a MSc in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution from Kings College London and is currently undertaking his Construction Adjudication Diploma with the RICS.
